Milow looking for pictures from the 80′s
Posted by JayAre in Big in Belgium, Music News on 20/04/2009
For his new “Born in the Eighties” project, Milow is looking for a lot of 80′s pictures and photos (may be your one and only chance to become famous…):

Pictures from your childhood, pics that say nostalgia, photos with an eighties vibe. Blow the dust from your old family albums, put them in the scanner and send them to us.
The higher the resolution, the better. (And don’t forget to ask permission to all people featured on the photo).
Send your pics for the Born in the Eighties project to milow.borninthe80s@gmail.com
Milow says thank you!
P.S. Born in the Eighties will be featured as bonus track on Milow‘s international debut album and it goes a little something like this (notice Tom Vanstiphout on the cool Mark Knopfler guitar):
Tom Vanstiphout, the hardest “Working Man” in Belgium
Posted by JayAre in Albums, Big in Belgium on 17/04/2009
Tom Vanstiphout is one of those guys you have absolutely, positively seen before. But you don’t seem to remember when or where. And that’s a pity…

Tom is one of the best session and live guitarists in Belgium. To name just a few bands and artists Tom has performed with: Clouseau (Flanders’ biggest pop band), Milow, Jan Leyers, …
In 2004 he stepped into the spotlights himself and released his first solo album Motion. A few songs got some airplay on the radio and Tom became a little bit big in Belgium as singer/songwriter (try to find Sixteen and Greyhound).
Last month, Tom Vanstiphout released his second solo album Working Man. First single is Better Be Ready:
Tracklisting:
- Better Be Ready
- The Party
- Slept Too Long
- Pretty Girls
- Night
- Working Man
- Blood on Blood
- Early Days
- Good Times So Far
- How Boys Get
- Morning

New music video for Milow – Out of My Hands
Posted by JayAre in Big in Belgium, Music Video on 14/03/2009
Today Milow released his new music video for the song Out Of My Hands from the album Coming of Age. The video was shot in Iceland on February 11 & 12. And there is an interesting story about both the song and the video.

Milow is said to have written the song for a girl who died of cancer. Her parents asked Milow to write a song for her and by the time he contacted them she had already passed away. The great personality Milow is, he decided to fulfill her wish and wrote the song Out of My Hands.
As said before, the video for Out of My Hands was shot in Iceland. On their way to the video shoot, a team of 5 people including Milow himself had a car accident during a blizzard. By wonder, nobody was injured. You can watch pictures from the accident on Milow’s dutch blog.
And now the most important bit of this post, the new Milow music video for Out of My Hands:
Listen to Out of My Hands by Milow on Last.fm.
Lyrics:
I made the call just too late
At the end of May
I just thought I could wait
For one more day
In the time that passed
You went down so fast
You went down so fastOut of my reach, out of my hands
I didn’t understand
I would have changed all my plansAn empty house, a setting sun
At four AM
Some battles fought are battles won
But this ain’t one of them
One more shadow cast
You went down so fast
You went down so fastOut of my reach, out of my hands
I didn’t understand
I would have changed all my plans
I would have changed
Out of my reach, out of my handsNow the leaves are turning brown
I watch ‘em blow
Where the earth pulls them down
I let you go
As your breath unwinds
Through the restless pinesOut of my reach, out of my hands
I didn’t understand
I would have changed all my plans
I would have changed
Out of my reach, out of my hands
I didn’t understand
I would have changed all my plans
I would have changed
